Issue Five: COVID Days of Summer
July 20, 2020
It has been some time since the last newsletter and the last outing of the NEOGL. The Northeast Ohio Golf League has been on a hiatus for no apparent reason other than people are busy and golf is so damn expensive. With that said, the boys pick the league back up after almost two months off this Saturday at Punderson at 9:30am EST. This will be the first repeat course of the season with Matt and Joe winning the first go around with a score of 80. There will be a handful of new, hopefully permanent, faces this weekend.
Here are a couple of housekeeping items to note since we are about halfway through the summer and inching closer to the League Championship:
Remember to pay your $10 league fee if you have not already paid. Venmo Bret (@Bret-Vaselaney).
Check out the website for all rules, statistics, and newsletters.
Start laying the groundwork with your wife now. The 2020 NEOGL Championship is tentatively set for Saturday, October 3, 2020.
$60 buy-in fee (will be used for prize money, food, etc.)
Tentative venue: Beechwood Golf Club, 6401 Gorski Rd, Fairview, PA 16415 (Approximately 1hr. 15min. from Chesterland, OH). The course was picked due to a league member knowing the owners and obtaining a discounted rate on the course and food. We will coordinate drivers as the date gets closer. I am sure some members will also spend the night around Erie, PA. Stay tuned.
If you don’t have a partner for the League Championship, well….now is the time to start thinking about that and reach out to them so you can get some rounds in with them to set your handicap.
Finally, we would love for members to get involved. If anyone has input or ideas on making the group better, let us know. Also, feel free to schedule tee times and just post them in the GroupMe chat. God speed. See you Saturday.
